Meet the ‘A Team’ – Part 1

Here at Heaven on Horseback we have a small but mighty team helping to make your equestrian dream ride come true. Let us introduce you…
Jane Kennedy – The Boss
The brains, the beauty and the brawn behind Heaven on Horseback. Jane is a renowned natural horse’woman’ship clinician, an accomplished dressage rider up to Grand Prix, and a successful Western team roper, there really is nothing this woman cannot do. She loves to share her passion for her horses and incredible knowledge of the surrounding areas that we are privileged to ride on with our clients.

Gabbie May – Head Guide
Gabbie is an experienced multi day trekking guide/wrangler having worked in both New Zealand and Canada. She is extremely hard working, never without a smile on her face or a joke to share, and loves to support and offer advice to our clients to help them get the most from their time with us. We are so lucky to have such an enthusiastic and happy-go-lucky person on our team.

Gary Steel – Guide
Where would we be without Gary? Gary is an outstanding horsemanship clinician (Hauraki Horsemanship) and is a huge asset to our team. His calm demeanour, professionalism, compassionate approach and knack for telling a great story really heightens our rides. He’s usually the first up in the morning and the last to bed, he’s also handy for hooking up those pesky trailers! He may even get his guitar out one evening!

Lorah Mitchell – Guide
Lorah is an integral part of the Heaven on Horseback team. She works tirelessly with our greener horses, helping to make them the best trekking horses for our clients. Her patient approach, great stickability (helped by those long legs) and general can-do attitude are a credit to our team, we really couldn’t do without her. She has a wealth of local knowledge which is readily shared with our clients and her smile is infectious.
